Welcome Back!
We’re thrilled to welcome our U13 players and families back for another exciting season of hockey with the Fredericton Minor Hockey Association!!
RECREATIONAL STARTUP INFORMATION
Volunteers Needed
- A link to a Google Drive document can be found here.
- Game Support – A Volunteer is needed at each door on each bench during every game to ensure the changing of players is done fairly. I also require 1 person to run the clock for each game.
- If you can help, please fill in your name on the live document or let me know—your support is greatly appreciated!
Jerseys
- Pickup: Scheduled for Wednesday Oct. 8th at Willie O’ Ree, upstairs in the Community Rooms. Pick up Times are from 5:30PM – 7:00PM. This will be the only time for U13 Rec Jersey distribution.
- Please be prepared to provide your Fredericton Rec Card number at the Jersey pick up, I will corelate these numbers into the final rosters that are provided to the team managers to speed up the roster approval process at the beginning of the season. a Link to the City's Rec Card site is found here.
- Return: Immediately after your athlete’s final game on OCTOBER 12TH.
- Female Players: if utilizing the female only change room, please deliver the jersey to me once your athlete has changed. Several female players did not return their jerseys last year, as they were just in a different dressing room and missed the memo.

Scheduling and Team Creation Notes
- These Groups are Final once posted. Please reach out to me if you know you will be missing an ice time, so i can note it on the evaluators forms.
- Individual player requests are now being taken by myself, and will only be considered if your athlete attends at least one of the evaluated games. We understand the value of friendships and will make every reasonable effort to accommodate player requests when forming teams. However, please note that our first priority is ensuring balanced recreational teams, so that all players can enjoy a positive experience and shared success throughout the season. While we cannot guarantee that every request will be honoured, we will keep them in consideration as we finalize team rosters.
If you notice any errors or inconsistencies, or if you believe your player is missing from the above list, please reach out immediately
Policies of note prior to Tryouts
- Hockey Canada Dressing Room Policy – Please note that FYHA adheres strictly to this dressing room policy. Please ensure your athlete arrives in appropriate undergear or knows to change in the washroom within the dressing room. This includes the “Rule of Two” policy found on Page 3 of the document.
- FYHA Electronics Policy – To respect the privacy of participants, no videos, still photos, or voice recordings of any kind may be taken using any device with recording capabilities in a dressing room or dressing environment. Cell phones are only permitted to be used in a dressing room or dressing environment for the purposes of controlling music played in those spaces.
- Hockey Canada Bullying, Harassment and Abuse Policy – please review this and have a discussion regarding this with your athlete and the positive atmosphere / culture we should be aspiring to provide to those around us.
