The Caps fall twice to the Eagles in a crucial home at home series this past weekend.

The Swiftys Capitals took to the ice this weekend to do battle against the Oromocto Eagles in a crucial home at home series.

Game one took place on Saturday at Soliders Arena.  As expected this contest was close all game long. Both teams trading chances and Oromocto bringing some heavy checks. The Capitals, while generating some good chances in the third, could not solve the Eagles keeper. The Eagles took this one 2-1.

In a return match Sunday night at Grant Harvey, the Caps looked to come out strong. With quick and agressive line changes the Caps jumped out to an early 1-0. The Eagles did not quite and continued to throw the body to the delight of their fan base and hard work paid off in the second as they grabbed a 2-1 lead. The Capitals showed some of fight of their own with a defender getting a break to the net and wiring a shot home. 2-2.

The Eagles stuck to their game plan and wore down the Caps defenders scoring on the short side to grab the lead. From there solid defence was in order and the Eagles came away with their second victory in as many days.

The Caps will look to reset tomorrow night as they host the York North Coyotes at Wilie O'Ree.
