Blue Jackets handcuff the Rangers

2017-02-28 - Peewee Blue Jackets

Player-of-the-Game: #19 Erin Doucette

Brady Lloy scores two goals, Jordan Donaldson one goal and Erin Doucette scores and earns Player-of-the-Game in win over Rangers.

The Blue Jackets had some extra motivation for this game - they wanted to get a win for their teammate and friend, Griffin 'G Man' Sears, who was not in the line-up for this match.

And it showed as the Blue Jackets came out flying dancing around the offensive zone firing pucks at will. And they get the result the wanted, as #5 Brady 'Dr. Dangles' Lloy rips off a zinger into the twine to put the Blue Jackets on the board first. But the Rangers were able to score later in the frame and the game is tied 1-1 after one.

The Rangers carried that momenum early in the 2nd period as they score quickly, but the Blue Jackets had their mojo in this game and kept up on pressuring. And the hard work is rewarded as #9 Jordan 'Nang' Donaldson bangs home the tying goal, and again, the game is tied as they head into the intermission; 2-2.

But the Blue Jackets could not be stopped as they ran away with it in the third as Brady Lloy out-hustles the Rangers defender for the puck, and slides a sweet pass to #19 Erin 'Douce' Doucette who slaps home a one-timer to put the Jackets ahead for good. And Dr. Dangles, Brady Lloy, seals the deal with an empty netter with 9 secs to go, as the Blue Jackets celebrate the season ending win.

Final:  Blue Jackets - 4  @  Rangers - 2

Brady Lloy scores two beauty goals, power-forward Jordan Donaldson bangs in a goal from in close, but none were as awesome as #19 Erin Doucette who hammers home a one-timer that sends the crowd into a frenzy and give the coaches an easy decision, as Erin leaves the dressing room the well deserved Player-of-the-Game. Way to go Erin... sweeeetttt goal and great game!!
