Strong start for the Blizzards in the Woodstock Keith Wright Memorial Tournament

DQ Blizzards continue to build momentum throughout the Woodstock Keith Wright Memorial Tournament with 3-1 record.

Woodstock, N.B.:  The Blizzards record of 3-1 in the Keith Wright Memorial Tournament fell short of competing in Championship Sunday.  Congratulations to Woodstock Slammers for the taking Gold versus Kent Kanucks.  

DQ vs. Charlotte County:
Despite the victory of Charlotte County with  final score of 7-4, the Blizzards started the game off slow, but controlled the play in the third period. 
  • Player of the Game:  #22 Cameron Hickey
  • Hustler of the Game: #16 Tynan Lawrence
DQ vs. Woodstock Slammers:
The Blizzards started the game flat-footed, allowed opponents to get behind the point men resulting in odd man rushes, breakaways, and were caught watching the puck as the Slammers applied strong pressure throughout the game.  DQ rallied and overcame the Slammers onslaught with a narrow victory of 4-3.

  • Hustler of the Game: #6 Evan Phillips
KV Hawks vs. DQ:
Blizzards are building momentum with each game they play in the tournament.  DQ created many scoring opportunites in the 7-2 win over KV Hawks.
  • Player of the Game:  #11 Jayden Burtt-Munn
  • Hustler of the Game: #8 Zach Rushton

Kent Kanucks vs. DQ:
A great effort by both teams in this exciting back-and-forth game between two FYHA league rivals.  The spoils ultimately going to the Kanucks during a scramble late in the 3rd period delivering a heartbreaking loss to DQ, 2-1.
