Sunday, lazy Sunday.

2017-01-10 - DQ Blizzards

The good, the bad, and the ugly of the Blizzards 10-3 win over Carleton.

Willie O-Ree, Jan 8:  With a record of 0-7, Wicked Good was looking for their first win of the season. The Blizzards were still riding high on the wave of jubilation from last night’s victory over Kent Kanucks when a determined Carleton team stepped on the ice and silenced the naysayers.

Carleton stood toe-to-toe to the Blizzards offensive rushes, poked holes in the defense, and produced breakaway after breakaway.  At the end of the first, DQ led 3-2.  The second period was equal match play with no scoring.  With 10 minutes left in the third, DQ maintained the lead at 4-3.  Then, it busted open.  Wide-open.  Blizzards scored six goals within the last 8 minutes of the third period.  Although DQ won 10-3, it was a hard-fought battle by Carleton that caught a lazy Blizzards team by surprise.
