The Lions wasted no time getting on the board Saturday on the road in Woodstock. Morgan Stiles opened the scoring to put the Lion’s up 1-0. Shortly thereafter, Stiles set up Nate Shaddick with a beautiful pass who went bar down to make it 2-0 and leave the Slammers’ heads spinning.  Couturier stood tall in the Lion’s net preserving the lead. Malloy then banged in a rebound from a blast by Peyton Sheppard to make it 3-0!  Woodstock got on the board in the 2nd period but Eric Montague’s first goal of the season snuffed out any life the Slammers thought they had gained. Woodstock went on to score a power play goal and then another, to make it a one goal game at 4-3. Malloy drove the net hard and sniped his second of the game.  Stiles followed that with his second of the game undressing the Slammers with a beautiful deke.  Not to be left out, Shaddick added his second of the game to set the final score 7-3!

This was a bounce back win for the Lions as they fell 6-1 to the league leading Oromocto Eagles Friday night.   Penalty trouble lead to the demise of the Lions giving up two 5 on 3 goals. Malloy had the only goal in a 6-1 loss.

The Lions are back in action this Saturday at the York Arena vs the DQ Blizzards!  Go Lions Go!!
