Major Senators vs. FYHA Ducks

This Sunday saw the Wendy's FYHA Novice Major Senators take on a team they know very well (share practice ice with), the Ducks.  With both sides very familiar with each other already, the game promised to continue the friendly rivalry that these two skilled teams have had all year.

The Ducks opened the scoring in the first with 3 quick goals, leaving the sleepy Sens down 3-0.  In the second period, the Senators were able to find their game, backstopped by solid goaltending by #1 Will, and with some signs of their offense showing, demonstrated by #13 Carter scoring the Sens first of the game.  Nonetheless the Ducks offense continued to press leaving the Sens down 5-1 after the Second.  In the Third though, the Sens came on much stronger, with much tighter defensive play when needed, as well as keeping the puck deep in the Ducks zone and driving hard to the net after rebounds and loose pucks.  Going hard to the net is what then gave #7 Samuel L. his goal, assisted by #14 Grady.  Bringing the Sens even closer was #3 Justin putting one past the strong Ducks netminder but then the Sens ran out of period, leaving the final score at 5-3.

Hard Hat was awarded to #7 Samuel L. for his good sense to go hard to the net and score that goal when the Sens needed some momentum.
