Frozen Faceoff Another Hit Amongst Grassroot Female Teams in NB

The FYHA would like to thank all teams and volunteers who took part in our second annual Frozen Faceoff this weekend. Thanks for helping promote female hockey and playing a significant role in growing our great game of hockey.

To wrap up the Frozen Faceoff it was a successful tournament for both FYHA Female Fury teams. In our Peewee Division, the FYHA Furies stormed through the competition, going 3-0 with 14 goals-for and goaltender Ky-Lynn Paul posting shut-outs in all 3 round robin games. Unfortunately for the FYHA Peewee Girls, the Carleton Mighty Chicks showed up with their A-Game in the Semi-Finals, downing the Furies 2-1 in a close, end to end, exciting game.

Winning the Peewee Division was Diepee who went undefeated the entire tournament and beat the Mighty Chicks 5-1 in the Finals.

Our Atom team also went undefeated the entire tournament and met Riverview in a rematch of last year's finals. The game saw its ups and downs for both teams and went to the final buzzer with the FYHA Furies coming out on top 3-2.
