Good team play earns the Ice Dogs two points in Stanley
With the freeze on at the Stanley Agrena the Ice Dogs were ready for a tilt with the hometown Coyotes. Coming off a disappointing loss to the Kanucks the Ice Dogs were looking to return to game form.
The Coyotes had some good pressure early on the power play but Adam Graham held down the fort. The first saw faced paced action with lots of energy but no score.
Carter Sturgeon made it 1-0 for the Ice Dogs off some good work in front. The Phillips, Bennett, Brewer line followed that up with a hard shift and turnover by Bennett with Liam Brewer picking up the rebound for a 2-0 lead. The Ice Dogs continued to apply pressure but found themselves in penalty trouble for much of this contest. A strong PK and Graham tracking well got the job done.
The battle for the Ice Dogs continued as they killed yet another power play. All Ice Dogs were engaged in this contest winning all the loose battles. Caleb Bennett made it 3-0 with some nice patience and even better shot. The Coyotes managed to spoil Graham's shutout bid but that was all the twine they would find. Make the final 3-1 Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs are back in league action Monday with a much anticipated rematch against the DQ Blizzards.
