-- Early Start

Last season I waited to receive the final registration list (Oct. 2nd) before developing a plan for tryouts/evaluations. Since ice-time requests need to be in sooner - I caused a 1-2 week delay which had a ripple affect through the first part of the season. This season - I will be requesting ice in the next two weeks. That said - the city will not guarantee reservations until 2-weeks prior, but being on the books now should make it easier as we approach October (it's easier to give it back than request it late).

Sessions will start Sept. 27th & 28th. This is before the Rec deadline, but 90% of members have joined by this time and the Rec sessions will be 'get the rust off' and 'skills and drills' with no evaluations. Comp sessions will be evaluated.

-- U18 AA Prep Camp

The FYHA will be offerening a U18 AA Competative 'Prep Camp' this season. The U18 AA program is the only FYHA team that competes with other leagues (High School) for players. This will give all prospective players an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming tryouts, evaluate their skills against other candiates and to give the management team an opportunity to gauge interest.

• The Prep Camp is currently schedule for Sun. Sept. 14th and Mon. Sept. 15th.
  • We are working with the city on times and locations.
  • Drills with Officiated Scrimmages
• There will be a cost to participants which will depend on the total ice-time provided
  • between $40 - $60 depending on two or three sessions and is 'on top' of FYHA Comp Tryout fees
• Only 40 skaters and 4 goaltenders will be accepted (firm)
  • Each candidate’s application will be evaluated - this is not 'first come, first served'
  • The following team list is the 'order of priority'.
• The Camp is open to members of the following 2024-25 teams:
  • FYHA U18 AA Lions
  • FYHA U18 A Blues
  • EDZA U15 AAA Caps
  • FYHA U15 AA Lions
  • FYHA U15 A (either team)
  • FYHA U18 C (current 17 year-olds from any team)
• Players who were members of a local High School team in 2024-25 are not eligible
• Players who have moved to Fredericton with comparable experience can apply
