Mental Training Workshop for Goaltenders

Feeling nervous before a game? Can’t seem to bounce back after that first goal? Constantly distracted while the puck is at the other end? Don’t worry, FYHA has got you covered. Tuesday, February 3^rd at 7pm in the Grant Harvey Community Rooms our association will be offering a Mental Training Workshop for all goaltenders and coaches lead by the current Sport Psychologist for the Montreal Canadiens Dr. David Scott.
 
The workshop will cover areas on improving mental awareness and how to deal with the pressures of playing goal.  
 
Dr. David Scott is a professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick. He teaches and does research in the area of sport and psychology. He completed a B.A. (Hons.) in Sport Science and a teaching degree at the University of Ulster, Belfast, Northern Ireland and an MA in Sport Psychology, an MA in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Victoria, in Victoria, British Columbia.
 
David has also been a consultant with a number of sport teams and organizations for the past six years. Prior to working with the Canadiens, David has also worked with the following NHL teams: Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers. He has also worked as a consultant with the following Pro-level, Elite and Major Junior teams: Louisville Panthers, Manitoba Moose, Rochester Americans, Hamilton Bulldogs, Lugano H.C. in Switzerland, Kamloops Blazers, Moose Jaw Warriors, Prince Albert Raiders, Swift Current Broncos, North Bay Centennials, Peterborough Petes, Melville Millionaires, the OCN Blizzard, Long Beach Ice Dogs, University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds and the Acadia University Axemen.
 
Along with the Montreal Canadiens, David is also currently employed by Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL, ERC Ingolstadt of the German Elite Ice Hockey League, and the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL.
